The holidays are finally over, and now you're left with the most daunting task: the cleanup after the office party. While it may seem a daunting task to clean up the post-holiday rubble, it's actually not as difficult -- or as daunting -- as it seems, provided you take it one step at a time and follow these simple cleaning steps.
- Is there a lot of leftover wine that, somehow, is missing a cork? Freeze all the leftover wine in an ice tray, then use the ice cubes in the future when someone wants an ice cube for their wine. They're also great treats!
- Did someone leave one (or more) water rings in the wood furniture? Clean it up with a nongel toothpaste -- just put a dab on the offending ring, then buff it clean with a dry cloth. (If you don't have toothpaste, mayo will work just as well.)
- Forget to water the plants for a few days? Cure it with club soda -- this contains phosphates, which aides in growth.
- Few things are a bigger pain in the butt than cleaning up the fallen pine needles and other Christmas tree rubble. But you can easily repurpose those needles -- and the tree! -- as mulch.
- Finally, whether you believe it or not, the leftover coffee grounds can make a great body exfoliating scrub! Mix 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds with 1 tablespoon of coarse sea salt (or kosher salt) and 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then scrub your body generously.
